Hot Metal Spraying provides significant advantages over other available coatings for specific applications that require particular performance properties.
Scott & Ensoll offer both Hot Zinc and Hot Aluminium spraying. Depending on your particular end application we can advise you which coating best suits your needs.
Hot Zinc Spraying provides a far superior coating to hot dip galvanising and has significant advantages in performance in extreme conditions than even the best galvanised coatings can provide. Hot Zinc Spraying is suited to the harshest of marine conditions and provides excellent corrosion prevention.
This is mainly due to the preparation of the base material to a full class 3 abrasive blast prior to application of the Hot Zinc media, additionally the Hot Zinc coating is applied to a average thickness of 120 microns far exceeding a normal galvanised coating thickness of 80 microns.
Hot Aluminium Spraying also has particular properties that can be useful in certain applications. Hot Aluminium Spraying has a similar advantage to Hot Zinc Spraying, in that the surface preparation is also just as important and is prepared to a full class 3 abrasive blast, prior to applying the Hot Aluminium media.
Hot alumnium spraying is particularly well suited to applications that require surface heat to be transfered quickly away from the base material. Hot Aluminium Spraying is an excellent coating for all non ferrous metals and has excellent high heat resistance, therefore making it uniquely suited to be used on vehicle exhaust and header systems as well as other metal components that require a non corrosive coating that are constantly exposed to a high heat enviroment.
